Justin Gaethje reveals the reason why he doesn’t want Dustin Poirier trilogy

Justin Gaethje returned to the Win-Kolumn at UFC 313 and the next step was to hold a Matchup marquee in line, but there is a big name in which he is not interested in Octagon again: the two-time opponent Dustin Poirier.
The light stars came together twice, and Poirier deserves a spectacular Knockout by Gaethje in the fourth round when they fought for the first time in April 2018, and Gaethje avenged this loss with a highlight-reel-head kick at UFC 291 five years later. With Gaethje and Poirier in the Twilight of their career, a third matchup between them was often discussed among fans and the media.
After his victory against Rafael Fiziev on Saturday, Gaethje explained why he didn’t want to meet Poirier in a trilogy.
“No,” said Gaethje at the press conference after the evening. “I have often explained that I don’t believe that one of our families deserves it. We are 1-1. I agree. If he agrees, then no.
“I think we are candidates when we hit other people. If I were beating it, I don’t think one of us is considered a candidate. “
When Gaethje was asked about who should retire Poirier, he suggested that he had another crack in the current lightweight champion.
“I don’t know it’s a good question,” said Gaethje. “Makhachev.”
Despite the loss, Poirier actually skipped Gaethje in the title race after her second fight. “The Diamond” recovered with a victory against the rapidly rising candidate Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 299, and Timing remembered that the following June he fought against Islam Makhachev against Islam Makhachev. Makhachev defeated Poirier about the submission of the fifth round to maintain the light title.
Gaethje challenged himself twice for the undisputed championship, but missed a third opportunity when he was at the wrong end of a Summers hit by Max Holloway at UFC 300. With a victory against Fiziev and another fight against the night bonus in his pocket, Gaethje’s end goal, the same will be the same: Gaethje’s end-ary: You become UFC Blitzmeister.
“Of course I want to fight for my belt,” said Gaethje. “It is a completely different matchup than straight. They tried to give me a donut. I took a bite, but I have to get up again when I fight against Makhachev. “
